B2B/Corporate PR Senior Account Executive – Senior Account Manager

My client is a well-respected global PR agency who is looking to expand their B2B/Corporate PR offering with the appointment of either Senior Account Executive, Account Manager or Senior Account Manager for its Manchester team.

 

They are looking for a capable and confident operator, who is well organised and adaptable, with good attention to detail and the ability to drive/manage client accounts. Candidates should have a PR agency background and have proven PR skills and competencies with a results-driven approach.

 

The role will involve the execution of the strategies and activities as directed by senior team members ensuring that programmes and objectives are being adhered to. Problem solving as required and demonstrating innovative thinking to achieve the best results for the client. This role will have direct reports so people management is preferable.

 

Required Skills

 

Media

  • proactive management of a network of good media and social media contacts
  • sell in press releases and news angles to secure coverage
  • identification of news angles/trends and opportunities to deliver coverage and inform campaign activities
  • negotiate and overseeing promotional activity e.g. advertorials, competitions, sponsorships etc.
  • understand and advise on all media handling

 

Digital and social media

  • advise team and client on approach and content for social media campaigns
  • develop creative social media campaigns with appropriate KPIs

 

Writing

  • excellence in all written communications including sensitive documents such as contracts and Q&As
  • ability to write compelling creative copy with a high level of attention to detail
  • coach junior members of the team on writing style

 

Presentation and communication

  • confident written and verbal communication
  • run client meetings
  • attend integrated meetings
  • take a key role in presentations

 

Event management

  • organise events, managing team members and suppliers to ensure objectives are met

 

Research

  • manage research for client campaigns
  • demonstrate understanding of consumer attitudes, motivations and behaviours and its relevance to PR and clients’ businesses

 

Crisis communications

  • play a role in crisis management as directed by senior members of the team

 

Client handling

  • be the day-to-day point of contact for clients
  • be a trusted advisor to clients with appropriate relationships at all client levels
  • take an active interest in clients’ businesses and sectors and alert clients to risks and opportunities

 

 

Campaign management – AM level and above

  • successfully manage annual campaigns and projects for clients
  • proactively demonstrate fresh-thinking and added value to the client
  • prepare reviews and project proposals
  • prepare first draft of proposals for annual plans

 

Budget management – AM level and above

  • control day-to-day budget management
  • prepare budgets for client projects
  • demonstrate good negotiation skills with suppliers and client

 

Team player

  • supervise and motivate team with a can-do attitude
  • manage team time effectively
  • effective delegation up and down the team

 

Administration

  • handle relevant administration for accounts such as budget reconciliations, management of timelines etc.
  • excellent organisation and time management skills

 

Creativity

  • apply creative thinking to deliver against clients’ and the team’s objectives

 

New business

  • participate in new business pitches
  • alert team to new business opportunities

 

Business acumen

  • develop useful and relevant business contacts
  • take an active interest in PR and wider marketing trends and demonstrate knowledge to the team and the client
